Week One: Starting the 85-Day Practice
August 10, 2026
I want to write these notes as I go, not after the fact — it’s too easy to smooth over the messy parts once you know how a story ends.
Day 1–3: mostly awkward
The instructions are simple on paper. In practice, the first few sessions felt clumsy — right hand doing one thing, left hand another, trying to keep the rhythm even. My right wrist was sore by day two, exactly the way the material warns it might be. I almost took that as a bad sign. It isn’t; it’s just an unused set of small muscles waking up.
Nothing dramatic happened. No warmth, no obvious sensation. If you’re the type who needs an immediate signal that “it’s working,” this is the part where most people quit.
Day 4–7: the shift
Around day five, lying down for the evening session, I noticed a faint warmth that hadn’t been there before — subtle, easy to dismiss as imagination. By day seven it was consistent enough that I stopped questioning it.
Sleep changed first, before anything else did. Falling asleep faster, waking up less groggy. That was the first thing I’d call a real, noticeable difference.
What I’d tell someone starting this week
- Don’t judge the first five days. They’re calibration, not results.
- The soreness in the hand and wrist is normal and passes.
- Consistency beats intensity — the short, plain sessions matter more than doing them “harder.”
I’ll post the next update around the end of Stage One.
